Red Ribbon Week Fun!

This past week was Red Ribbon Week at Concrete! I only got a chance to capture one picture of my friends this week :( We have been busy little bees in room 108! Here are my friends saying "hats off to drugs."
Aren't they just the cutest little "firsties" you have ever seen!

We also took a minute to get our jitters out this week! I am so excited about my "new find" from youtube! I found ALL of the Just Dance Videos! I cannot wait to do some more of these during indoor recess! :) They are so much fun! Anyway, we got our "jitters" out of Friday with a few dance moves! Here ya go!

Football Fun!

This past week I got a chance to watch one of my little "firsties" play an amazing game of football! Harrison's football team has been undefeated this season, and believe me they are very well-deserving of this title! This game was definitely a nail-biter, but I was so glad that I got a chance to watch him in action!
 GREAT JOB HARRISON!!
Harrison and Me after the game! Great job buddy!

Recent Happenings in Room 108

So it's been awhile! :( I have a few pictures I want to share with all of you from the past week. We have been practicing counting on in math. My little friends are becoming "expert counter on-ers" :) Here are a few pictures of my itty-bitties playing the counting on quilt game!

Welcome BACK!!

We have had such a wonderful first week back to school! I have enjoyed getting to know my new little "firsties"! I hope that your child has had just as much fun this past week as I have :) I am still waiting on a few blog permission forms, so I can only share a few photos right now...
We have been learning a lot about friendship this week and different ways that we could be a good friend. This is one of my most favorite lessons :) We read the book The Crayon Box That Talked together as a class. This book is about a rowdy bunch of crayons that just cannot seem to get along. Then, we had to work together as a team and use the crayons to create a beautiful masterpiece! Here are a few of our drawings.

And...Last but not least- "Skeletoes"
(I mean really...how cool are these shoes?!?!)

I hope your children had as much fun as me this week! I am one lucky teacher!!!! Keep checking back on the blog for updates!! Happy 2nd Week of School!!

Art Encounter Day!

I am sure by now that all of you have heard about our super fun day of art! Our wonderful art teacher, Mrs. Nall planned a day full of fun for our school! It was a HUGE hit with everyone!! We visited all different types of artist and learned all about their special talents. Here are a few pictures from our day of art fun!
First stop...cookie decorating!

Breanna's icing matches her outfit!!

Oops!! My hands are PINK!!

Caleb LOVES sprinkles...take a close up look below :)

Next up...a dance-a-thon!
Mrs. Melanie came to teach us some of the coolest moves around!
First, we danced with our face, then made shapes with our bodies, next we melted to the ground, and finally we cha-cha'd our way to happiness!

Making shapes with our bodies...

 Having fun!!

 Melting...
 Breanna had the BEST cha-cha
Two best buddies found each other! I caught them showing off their moves!

And...on our way to the next stop, I caught Eli showing off his own original dance moves!
I give you...the Bernie! :)
So then, the dance party continued and Devon showed us all the "Dougie"
Next up...a jam session with the coolest keyboard player, drummer, and guitar player around!

Our friend Colin thought it was super loud in there :)

Cannon says..."This is the COOLEST!!"

And...this is how I found Devon...rockin' out! :)

Next up...caricatures!
Alexia was up first!

 Next up...Zari

 And finally...Sam

Then it was our turn to try making our own!

Next up...Lunch
Our outdoor picnic got rained out, so where should we eat now??
Well, we decided to have a picnic on the cafeteria floor instead! How cool is that??

And to top it off, we celebrated Caleb's birthday! So much fun!

What is left you ask?? Balloon Art!!!

She made our class this cute bear to take with us!

And our last stop on the art tour was story telling!
This guy did a fantastic job telling stories..he used great voices!

Thank you Mrs. Nall for planning such a WONDERFUL day of art fun for us! We loved every, single second of it!! You are the BEST!!
