Math Fun!

This week we learned about probability. We played a really fun game where we filled a paper bag with 9 red cubes, 3 blue cubes, and 1 yellow cube. Before we started the game, my little firsties talked with their groups about which cubes they thought they would have the best chance of pulling out of the bag. They all decided that the red cubes would be picked the most! As they pulled the cubes out of the bag, they had to tally their results.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!

Happy birthday Dr. Seuss! We had so much fun celebrating your birthday in Room 108! The kiddos and I started our day by making our own Dr. Seuss hats and reading The Cat in the Hat Justin Bieber style. What a hit!!

After we listened to Justin Bieber read to us, we had a "Seusstacular" math lesson with rainbow goldfish. We sorted, tallied, graphed, and made different patterns with these yummy goldfish!
Step 1: Sorting
Step 2: Tally Time

...and then onto patterns!

Everyone brought in their favorite Dr. Seuss book to read also. We had so much fun reading, sharing, and talking with each other about all the Seuss books we love!
