Mrs. Jones and Oliver Come to Room 108!

Wednesday was our lucky day! Mrs. Jones and Oliver made their monthly visit to Room 108. Mrs. Jones and her sidekick Oliver visit every classroom at Concrete Primary once a month to teach us all about the character traits that can help us be a better friend and person. Some of the character traits Mrs. Jones and Oliver will be teaching us about this year are fairness, trustworthiness, caring, responsibility, and respect.

On Wednesday, Mrs. Jones and Oliver reviewed what it was to be a bucket filler. Being a bucket filler is a big job! Bucket fillers show others respect, help out, and do nice things for others without having to be asked. Being a bucket filler also means that you make others feel good about themselves and encourage and support them whenever you can. I am always looking for bucket fillers in our classroom and let me just tell you that we have a LOT of bucket fillers in our room. When I catch someone filling someone elses bucket, I put a note in Mrs. Jones's bucket. On Friday, Mrs. Jones and Oliver pick a few names out of the bucket and read the note on the morning news. They also give the bucket fillers a special prize for being so caring and supportive of others.

Here are a few pictures from Mrs. Jones and Oliver's visit to our class...

This cool cat is Oliver!

After Mrs. Jones shared a book with our class, my little friends got to choose a fish out of Olivers bucket. Each fish had a bucket filler action or a non-bucket filling action on it. They had to decide if it was a bucket filler or not! They had so much fun!

Finally, Mrs. Jones and Oliver celebrated our August and September birthdays!

Our class is full of bucket fillers! My bucket is filled EVERY day by my little friends, and they work VERY hard to fill the buckets of other people in not only our class, but our entire school!
