Our Personal Stories! :)

For the past two weeks, we have been learning all about how to write a personal narrative. We started this short unit by listing all kinds of memories we have had in our lives. The list they created was great. We came up with ideas about vactions, losing our first tooth, getting a special present, our first pets, playing a sport, getting a video game, etc. We created a GREAT starting place for our writing. :) Next, we chose a special moment in our lives and planned out our writing. Then, we turned our "ideas" into sentences and learned how to add details. (This was our read, revise, and edit phase) Finally, we began to publish our writing with a title, a detailed cover page, detailed pictures, and neat handwriting. Let me just tell you....their stories are going to knock your socks off! They are so awesome! You really are not going to believe a first grader created these stories! This was such a fun writng unit for me, because I got to learn a little more information about my first grade friends. Here are a few of my friends stories...I hope to record more stories next week! Here we go...
